Description:This document is intended to provide a quick reference to plant species for different soil types and environments and not to duplicate other recently published in-depth publications for reclamation and restoration. In most cases, a mixture of species would be recommended to provide diversity and less chance of inadequate stands. Appropriate seeding techniques are very important to success. Additional references for minimum precipitation, height/growth type, seedling vigor/ease of establishment, seeding rates, soil texture adaptations, weed suppression ability, acid/alkalinity tolerance, seasons of use, varieties, mixture recommendations, values, management, and availability include: Ferris, F. K., et al. 1996. Handbook of western reclamation techniques. Office of Technology Transfer, western region, Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement, Denver, CO 80202-5733. (http://www.wrcc.osmre.gov) Keywords: plant species, native-introduced, ecological sites, soils, precipitation
