Nearly 3,000 4-Hers involved in state fair

Nearly 3,000 4-Hers were involved in the 2006 Wyoming State Fair and Rodeo Aug. 12-19 in Douglas.

“More than 2,800 Wyoming youths in 4-H competed in one form or another at state fair,” said Johnathan Despain, state 4-H coordinator for the University of Wyoming’s Cooperative Extension Service. “I am continually amazed at the talents and hard work that are demonstrated by the young people of Wyoming.”

Despain said the new buildings at the state fairgrounds boosted the enthusiasm this year.

“The talents expressed in projects and contests were as high a quality as ever. For being the largest youth event of any kind in our state, it was a great fair,” Despain added.

Youth results from the fair are attached.

Results will also be available by Sept. 1 at the following UW CES Web site:
