UW offers greenhouse management workshop in Gillette

Techniques for managing a successful commercial or hobby greenhouse will be presented during a workshop Wednesday, July 12, at the University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension Service (UW CES) Campbell County office.

The workshop is 3-6 p.m. at 1000 S. Douglas Highway, Suite A, in Gillette. The meeting rooms are on the north side of the building. CES offices in Campbell, Crook and Weston counties are sponsoring the seminar.

Karen Panter, extension horticultural specialist, will teach the class. Her specialty is greenhouse management, and she will present materials on such subjects as utilities, orientation, frames, covers, designs, heating and cooling, environmental controls, benches, disease and insect control, planting and harvesting, and proper watering and feeding techniques. Questions from the audience will be welcome.

“There will be no charge for the workshop, and the three hours promise to be packed with useful information for the commercial greenhouse owner as well as the homeowner who has a hobby greenhouse,” said Bill Taylor, CES educator for Campbell, Crook and Weston counties.
